"Teach these words of mine to your children, talking about them
when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down, and when you get up."
- Deuteronomy 11:19
Faith Development Project
We know that if we want to be effective in nurturing faith developmnet, we have to have some measurable goals. We have designed our own County Line grade-level guidelines for faith development. These include suggested skills and goals for children in the areas of:
~ Bible understanding ~ Character traits ~ Memory work
~ Community life ~ Personal spiritual disciplines ~ Missions
Our parents know that they have the main responsibility for their child's faith development and that we are here to support them. Each fall children are given individual Faith Development Skill Cards for their grade level. These are for families to use at home. Our age group classes and kids' worship experiences reinforce many of the skills suggested in the cards. We also offer parenting classes and family events throughout the year to encourage parents as they raise their children in the faith.
