During the month of January at County Line, we are going to highlight one of our ministry partners, Destiny Rescue. Destiny Rescue is an internationally-recognized Christian non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing children trapped in the sex trade. The vision is to rescue the sexually exploited and enslaved, restore the abused, protect the vulnerable, empower the poor and be a voice for those who can’t speak up for themselves. Currently, there are various programs in Thailand, Cambodia, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and India. County Line’s focus is on the programs in the Dominican Republic. Since 2011, they’ve rescued over 2000 children enslaved around the world, helped keep hundreds more from entering the sex trade through various prevention programs, ensured justice for those who have been wronged, and raised awareness to untold numbers. Destiny Rescue realizes that human trafficking is a global problem. They’re determined to respond to God’s call to set captives free worldwide. Until no more children are sold, forced or coerced into the sex trade, Destiny Rescue is fully committed to fighting for their freedom, their restoration, and their futures. Destiny Rescue exists to Rescue, Restore, Protect, Empower and be a Voice for the Voiceless.

Ways to get involved

During this month, Destiny Rescue will have a table set out where they will be selling jewelry made by the rescued girls. Every purchase of handmade jewelry from Destiny Rescue supports girls in earning a safe wage. Because they can offer rescued girls an income from jewelry making, many feel able to leave the brothels and stay out for good. Every purchase changes lives.

Also, during the month of January Destiny Rescue will be selling tickets to their Night for Freedom ball: Me and My Guy (bring your dad, grandpa, uncle, etc). Tickets are $10 a person ($30 maximum per family). This event is from 6-8pm in the Gathering Space on February 24th. They could also use some volunteers for this event if you are looking for somewhere to serve. Food donations will be accepted starting in a few weeks so look out for that as well.
