And the child grew and became strong; He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on Him.

Luke 2:40

Who We Are

Creative Play School is a designed to be a place where children are encouraged to play, learn, think, and grow so they can become the best of who they were designed to be. We know that the values formed in childhood become the foundation for beliefs and actions for the rest of our lives.

We are a part-time enrichment program that meets from September through May for children 2 to 5 years old. The program includes experiences in music, art, Spanish, chapel, library and kindergarten readiness skills. Children are lovingly cared for and every effort is made to provide for their safety, comfort and happiness. Our program is a ministry of County Line Church. We are looking forward to having our students back! Our first day begins on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Our Kindergarten Program is for kids who be 5 years old on, or before August 1st. They will have to pass a simple screening for readiness to participate in the program. Our curriculum includes Math, Reading, Science, Art and the Bible. Class is limited to 16 children with a teacher and an aide.

In Indiana, and 34 other states, Kindergarten is optional, and not mandatory. This program is designed to offer parents an alternative to a full-day Kindergarten. It will be developmentally appropriate for 5 & 6 year olds with a short day, excellent adult/child ratio with an engaging, creative curriculum. This Kindergarten program will be under the administration of Creative Play School and County Line Church of God.

When May I Enroll?

Priority registration begins February 1, 2021 for existing Creative Play School families and current County Line Church of God families. General registration begins February 21, 2021.

There is a $50 for Preschool/ $100 for Kindergarten non-refundable enrollment fee which includes a Creative Play School Bag. Children may be enrolled at any time throughout the school year as long as there are openings in the class and they meet the age guidelines.

If you have any question about enrollment, contact Creative Play School Director, Wendi Walborn at

How Are The Classes Grouped?

Children must be 2 years old by August 1st to enroll. Classes are limited to 12-18 children, depending on the age group. Younger classes are smaller. There is a teacher and an aide for each class. Children are generally divided by their approximate age range and developmental levels.

The Pre-K classes are designed for children who will be attending Kindergarten the following year. They must be 4 years old by August 1st. Four year olds may attend two days per week or four days per week, depending on available openings.

Potty Training Policy:

Children in the 2 and YOUNG 3 year old classes are not required to be daytime potty trained to attend, however diapers/pull-ups will need to be provided by the parents. The children are required to “try” to potty during scheduled potty breaks. Children in the OLDER 3’s and all other preschool classes are required to be fully day time potty trained in order to attend.

Special Needs Children?

It is our desire to be of service to children and their families to the best of our capabilities. We do not have specialists on staff to serve all children with special needs. In the case of children who may require assistance or unique accommodations, we request that parents schedule a meeting with the director and/or potential teacher to discuss your child’s specific needs.

If it is determined that there is potential for placement, there will be a pre-determined trial enrollment period with specific goals and feedback between all parties concluding with another group conference to agree on either continued enrollment or withdrawal to find a placement that would better serve the needs of the child.

More About
Creative Play School

Creative Play School was originally organized over 25 years ago by a group of mothers who wanted to provide a quality enrichment and socialization experience for their children. In 2002 it became part of the Kids Ministry of County Line Church. The annual enrollment is around 180 part-time children.

Classes are limited to 12-18 children, depending on their age, and each class has a teacher and an aide. The program encourages play, discovery, socialization and creativity. Tuition for the program covers staff salaries and supplies for the children. The church underwrites the use of facilities, utilities, maintenance and custodial care.

Our Philosophy

Why Are We Here?

Our mission is to restore our communities by offering a quality pre-school program that enriches the lives of children and their families.

What Do We Do?

Our vision is to partner with parents by providing a quality, faith-based setting where children experience development opportunities for their mind, body, and spirit, as well as a play-based introduction to kindergarten readiness skills.

How Do We Think?

We know that children learn best when given the freedom to play and discover in a safe and interesting environment. We think it is important to offer a variety of creative opportunities that are developmentally appropriate where they can learn new concepts, accomplish new tasks, and practice problem solving and relational skills. We are intentional about introducing experiences that will help prepare them to be successful learners in the classroom and in life.

The curriculum is planned around themes that encourage social interaction and a play-based introduction to kindergarten readiness skills. Teachers share monthly newsletters with parents to inform them about classroom themes and activities. Their lesson plans are made in advance and submitted to the director. Parent/Teacher conferences are held in February.

Children Are Introduced to the Following Readiness Skills:

Color and Shape Recognition | Name Identification | Counting and Grouping | Pre-Reading and Pre-Math Skills | Poetry, Stories and Language Skills
